Real Purpose of latest viruses

This article http://www.heise.de/english/newsticker/news/44879 in German newspaper Heise Online I think supports my analysis of the latest round of trojan and viruses .. see conversation below

I have an alternate analysis.
The virus instals a backdoor on infected pc's which can be used by the
author(s) for their own ends.  This is build a network of 0wn3d zombies to be
used to deliver spam email / attack finacial targets / grab passwords + credit
cards ..

The SCO / Microsoft stuff is to obvious and too easily sidestepped to be the
real target. Its just background noise to hide the real payload.

These viruses aren't being written by schoolkids wannabe haxors, but by
professional coders being payed for their efforts by interests expecting a
reward on an investement.  The sobig virus strains (a-f) ( which timed out
every 4 week or so) last year were just  testers.
The era of cyber blackmail /  extortion  is just beginning.   My prediction ..
this year will be bad for viruses. especially - but not limited to - windows
users.  Time to lock the doors and bolster the gates.  Check out FreeBSD/
OpenBsd for your firewalls . .stay patched.

As to reciting the make sure you have AV software and its updated mantra to
non burngreave.net, bitpart users.  There is the article I wrote for the
messenger this month.
http://www.burngreavemessenger.org.uk/38feb04/safetynet.shtml

Its not rocket science.  Don't run stupid attachments in your email!  You
know.. I know ..what do you do?

Run Linux / *BSD / MacOs  and still be scared!

How do you get that message across to a fresh computer users (a la highway)
and still let them download all the assfucking cocksucking cumbathing porn
they want ( whatever )

Computer Software and networks are (some of ) the most complex human made
systems ever, yet we wrap that complexity up in fluffy warm blanket and are
surprised when a spike shafts you.  I get 10 email a day saying "expand your
girth" "watch me an my girlfriend" " Earn cash today!" .

Somebody answers them
