All the hardware ideas are good - only potentially contentious one is
diagnostic software & hardware. Personally I haven't used the sophisticated
system that simon's referring to but I think there was discussion at one of
the early meetings about it. As I remember (not definitive) we ended up
feeling that it was quite expensive for the volume of hardware fixes we
dealing with. Please feel free to come back with any corrections etc.
