MacOS X 10.2Krysia's just been lent a G4 .. Its very tasty, flat screen + final cut pro and a Pro DV editing bit of hardware. Any how I tried to install Safari on it because IE 5 stinks if you want to use encrypted websites, and found I couldn't because the mmachine wa set to autologon as a particular user and that users password was hidden. Well suddenly its a challenge as .. whats the point of having a computing device in the house if you can't change augment / customise it. new burngreave.net blogInspired by my Drupal experiences and also by my recent playing around with rss/xml feeds I've decided to have a go at converting my exisiting rising7 website into a combination of static and weblog pages. MacOS 9.2.2 for OldWorld MacsWe run a 3 Mac network at home sharing our broadband connection (though I do have a line of site to Abbeyfield Park House...) As our finances have meant our newest Mac is now nearing it's 5th birthday (and unless an as yet undiscovered rich relative leaves me some money, this will remain the situation for some time), I've made it a project to keep out three Macs as up-to-date as possible. The three are: PowerMac 5500/275, 7600/132 and 8200/100. They have all been running OS9.1 successfully (and in a very stable way). According to Apple this is the maximum OS that can be run on these machines. By pault at 2003-03-19 10:56 | Apple | pault's blog | login or register to post comments | read more
